The German research project ILoNa (Innovative Logistics for Sustainable Lifestyles) promotes innovative logistic services, sustainable consumer lifestyles and sustainable logistics structures. The project is a collaboration between the Center for Media & Health, the Centre of Logistics and Traffic University of Duisburg-Essen, the Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production, the Department of Computer Science and Applied Cognitive Science (INKO) University of Duisburg-Essen and other partners.

In this project the CMH is responsible for the working package 3.2 “Target group orientated communication strategies ILoNa for Behavioural Change”. The CMH will analyze target group orientated lifestyle patterns (incl. media preferences, knowledge and values) and will develop target group orientated communication scenario’s to stimulate sustainable lifestyles in logistics.

The central questions of the ILoNa project are:
  1. How should innovative logistic services be designed in order to meet both socio-ecological requirements as well as promote sustainable lifestyles of consumers?
  2. What kind of changes should take place from the consumer side to support sustainable logistics structures?
The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Framework Program Research for Sustainable Development: Sustainable Economy. The ILoNa project is managed by the Centre for Logistics and Traffic at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
