Martine Bouman receives prestigious Pearl Award

13 April 2017
On April 12th, Prof. dr. Martine Bouman has received the prestigious 'Pearl Award' from The Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development (NOHRD) for her many innovative health communication research projects. The Pearl was handed to her by Henk Smid, director of the NOHRD, at the annual Dutch Public Health Conference.

From the jury report
"Bouman's vision is that there are no unreachable target audiences, there are only forms of information transmission that do not work for certain target audiences. An innovative and refreshing approach is always at the core of her research. Her research leads to new insights (with demonstrable results) based on different paradigms and research methods.

Furthermore, she deploys theories from the field of marketing and persuasive communicatie and forms of co-creation. Through combining these fields, she stays in touch with contemporary ideas and developments regarding the stimulation of healthy behaviour and new media."
